Discipleship Groups: Grades 9-12disciple

Jesus walked with his disciples. He taught them, he cared about them, and he was personally invested in each one of them, helping them to become the saints they were meant to be. Our discipleship leaders are committed to walking with teens on their journey through high school. Each teen is matched with a small group of 5-10 high school students as well as a discipleship leader. The group meets to: build strong and faithful friendships, explore Catholic tenets of belief, engage in service opportunities, attend faith-building activities, and have fun.

Groups of young men or young women meet every other week throughout the school year for Study Sessions. Groups will also attend our High School/Middle School speaker event on Wednesday, April 13th as well as participate in service and prayer sessions.

Confirmation Preparation Program

Confirmation 2014

Confirmation, the sealing of the Holy Spirit within a baptized person, strengthens one’s bond to Christ and His Church. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the Confirmed should be living, active members of the Body of Christ who share Christ’s message of love and mercy with others, participate in the liturgy and strive to live a life that brings glory to God. We are all called to be saints (ie: the very best versions of ourselves) and God wants to help us get there! The Sacrament of Confirmation is another occasion of God’s grace being poured out on us, so that we can be strong on this journey and help others along the way.

Program Prerequisites: Students must be baptized, a high school senior at the time of Confirmation, and be actively involved in a religious education or youth ministry program for at least the previous year (though being involved throughout is HIGHLY encouraged).

Timeline for Confirmation:

-Spring of Junior year: Students and parents attend a Confirmation Prep Orientation and sign up for the Confirmation Preparation Program

-Fall of Senior Year: Students attend Confirmation Preparation Sessions, a Mass of Acceptance, and an overnight retreat

-October of Senior Year: Students receive the Sacrament of Confirmation

-Other requirements: Service to the Church and Community, letter to the Confirming Bishop, choosing a Confirmation name, and completing Confirmation Interviews
